Swimming – National Records – Selector

 Introduction

The following provides access to Scottish National Records, performance made in or outwith Scotland, by swimmers “under the jurisdiction of the S.A.S.A.”
Until 1967, all recognised Scottish National Records were made in Short Course pools with Imperial distances.
In 1967, Long Course Imperial Records were also inaugurated and times achieved before this date were taken into account when compiling the records listings.
No Long Course Imperial Records were ratified after 1970.
It was also agreed to ratify no more Short Course Imperial Records after 1970, but some were passed by the S.A.S.A Council in 1971.
However, by 1972, two sets of Metric Records were introduced for Long and Short Course pools.
